On introduction, the 2010 Chevrolet Volt will be an extended-range electric vehicle with a revolutionary propulsion system unlike other traditional electric cars. Chevrolet Volt is engineered to carry more than 75 per cent of America’s commuters without a single drop of fuel. This means those who drive less than 40 miles every day will use zero gasoline and there will be zero emission. s
The 2010 Chevrolet Volt will make good of a lithium-ion battery with various range-extending onboard power sources that include gas and E85 ethanol (in some vehicles) to recharge the battery for above 40-mile limit. A common household plug will be used for charging.
